About Dancing Otter Foods
Our Story
Dancing Otter Foods was founded in 2020 by Tom, a retired firefighter who's been grilling and smoking and everything in between for over 30 years. Right, wrong or indifferent, Tom firmly believes that food tastes great when it's cooked right but when it's cooked right with the proper seasonings, it tastes great and IT'S FUN TO EAT!
So after 30 years of buying other peoples spices and noticing fillers, anti-caking powders, colorings, MSG and other things coupled with the fact that the vast majority are made in some big factory with a different label is slapped on them, he thought, I can do better.
Thankfully, many of Tom's friends are grillers, or smokers or chefs or everything in between so he had a large group of taste testers who he knew would be painfully honest.
Fast forward to 2024 and we have 12 different spices and rubs. Some have been in National contests and one has made it to 5th place out of 276 established rub makers and BBQr's.
